As new members of the American Athletic Conference for the 2023-24 academic year, the Charlotte 49ers demonstrated they were up to the challenge of competing on a larger stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 2023-24, five Charlotte teams won conference titles: men\u2019s soccer, men\u2019s tennis, softball and women\u2019s indoor and outdoor track and field, tied for the most of any AAC team. Eight teams also competed in NCAA postseason competition, pushing the program to its best-ever finish in the Learfield Directors\u2019 Cup. Student-athletes excelled in the classroom, too, earning a highest cumulative GPA in fall and spring semesters with 90 completing their degrees in 2023-24.\u00a0

With the Phase I expansion of Jerry Richardson Stadium approved by the UNC Board of Governors in April, Charlotte 49ers football is positioned for success, as new head coaches in men\u2019s basketball<\/strong><\/a>, women\u2019s basketball<\/strong><\/a> and softball<\/strong> <\/a>offer new leadership for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
