UNC Charlotte is committed to serving its region as Charlotte\u2019s hometown university. During the 2023-24 academic year, this was even more visible.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niner pride was on full display during the third annual Niner Nation Week, which included events throughout Charlotte. Attendance increased 250% over the previous year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the year, the University also served as a connector for the region, bringing academic and cultural events and thought-provoking speakers to Charlotte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University also is focused on expanding its presence in Uptown Charlotte by increasing student activity and expanding intellectual discourse and cultural offerings. Examples in 2023-24 included the Chancellor\u2019s Speaker Series<\/a> with pioneering economist Raj Chetty, the University\u2019s sponsorship of Charlotte Shout! Festival, and music and dance performances through the College of Arts + Architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
