UNC Charlotte is climbing the ranks as a growing academic powerhouse. Most noteworthy is Charlotte\u2019s rise in U.S. News & World Report\u2019s 2024 national rankings, earning a coveted position among the nation\u2019s top 100 public universities. Overall, Charlotte leaped 41 spots over the previous year and is one of the fastest rising U.S. national universities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlotte academic programs also are receiving an increasing number of national rankings. Charlotte earned 19 U.S. News top 100 graduate program rankings<\/a>, and the University\u2019s online bachelor\u2019s programs are top 10 in the nation<\/a> for the third consecutive year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the year, Charlotte students continued to shine, with 20 national scholars or finalists, including Truman, Fulbright and Gilman. Faculty also received national and regional awards for their research and creative work, including three NSF CAREER Awards and Charlotte\u2019s second NC Campus Engagement Engaged Faculty Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, the University created new pathways for student and research success by forming two new colleges<\/a>: the the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences and the College of Science. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academics are positioned for future success with new leadership. After serving as interim, Jennifer Troyer was named permanent provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs<\/a>, and five key academic leadership positions were filled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
