(\u201cJesh\u201d) Humphrey IV assumed the role of interim director of athletics in October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to assuming the role of interim director of athletics, Humphrey was the vice chancellor of institutional integrity and general counsel for UNC Charlotte, providing legal counsel as the University\u2019s senior attorney and maintaining responsibility for the supervision and administration of the Division of Institutional Integrity. The Division supports UNC Charlotte in its endeavors to achieve its academic mission and strategic plan while adhering to the University\u2019s ethical, legal and regulatory responsibilities. The Division consists of the Office of Legal Affairs; the Office of Ethics, Policy and Compliance; the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX; the Internal Audit Department; and Enterprise Risk Management.<br><br>He received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. He has held leadership roles in the North Carolina Bar Association Education Law Section and the National Associate of College and University Attorneys, and holds an appointment as an associate member of UNC Charlotte&#8217;s graduate faculty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>James E.
