The College of Arts + Architecture presents 100+ events each year. Robinson Hall for the Performing Arts<\/a> is the university\u2019s state-of-the-art facility, featuring a versatile Black Box Theater and the beautiful proscenium-style Anne R. Belk Theater. Rowe Recital Hall<\/a> is located in Rowe Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anne R. Belk Theater<\/strong> – The first of Robinson Hall\u2019s three stories houses the 336-seat Anne R. Belk Theater, which features a 3,500-square-foot proscenium stage equipped with a 60-foot-fly-loft for storing and changing scenery and an orchestra pit for opera and musical theatre performances. The theater is primarily used for performances by our performing arts units, including Department of Dance concerts, Department of Music ensemble concerts, and select Department of Theatre productions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note: The Anne R. Belk Theater will be undergoing upgrades to the stage floor starting May 5, 2026 and will be closed for the duration of the summer until July 31, 2026. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rowe Recital Hall<\/strong> – Rowe Recital Hall is located in the Rowe Arts building and has a maximum audience capacity of 371. It is the home of the Department of Music\u2019s Faculty & Friends Concert Series and select student performances, including the Opera Workshop and Musical Theatre Workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black Box Theater<\/strong>: The Black Box Theater in Robinson Hall for the Performing Arts can be adapted to accommodate up to 125 patrons for a variety of unique and intimate theatre experience. This theater is primarily used for Department of Theatre productions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dance Lab<\/strong> – The Dance Lab (Robinson 118) is a dance studio that is also equipped with stage lighting, cyclorama, and black curtains to create a performance space with a maximum seating capacity of 120. The 3,156 square foot space is primarily used by the Department of Dance for student showcases or class showings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our 150-capacity Choir Room<\/strong> (Robinson 145) is ideal for choral rehearsals and sectional practices, vocal masterclasses or workshops, small instrumental performances or recital prep. The room features high ceilings and acoustic wall treatments, including automated curtains, for balanced sound and reduced echo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
