During the pandemic he composed the opera&nbsp;<em>Zavala Zavala<\/em>, with a libretto by Anna Deeny Morales.&nbsp;<em>Zavala Zavala<\/em>&nbsp;tells the true story of one of the first victims of the first Trump administration\u2019s family separation policy. The Washington, DC, based opera company&nbsp;<em>In Series<\/em>&nbsp;premiered&nbsp;<em>Zavala Zavala<\/em>&nbsp;on their 2021-2022 season, which included performances at the Kennedy Center\u2019s Terrace Theater. The opera was remounted in June 2024 by the GALA Hispanic Theatre in Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cws.charlotte.edu\/backup-coaa\/2024\/07\/10\/voice-professors-opera-receives-second-d-c-production\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read more about the opera and its recent production here<\/a>. In 2024, Dr. Campbell served as a guest conductor for the South Carolina All-State Jazz Ensemble in Newberry, South Carolina. In 2023, he was the invited guest conductor for the Texas All-State Jazz Ensemble II at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Clinic\/Convention, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, in San Antonio, Texas, held February 8-11. The Texas All-State bands are regarded as the most advanced bands of their type in the country.&nbsp; Dr. Campbell\u2019s arrangement of \u201cBeyond Thursday,\u201d an original composition by world-renowned trumpet artist Scott Wendholt, has been performed at three universities in recent years. He was asked to compose the sight reading etudes for all instruments for the 2025 Oklahoma All-State Jazz Ensemble auditions. In recent years, she has performed at venues such as the Japan Society of Minnesota, GALA Hispanic Theater in Washington D.C., Davidson College, the Charlotte SHOUT Festival, and with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Frisch has performed and recorded both popular music and Classical chamber music for WDAV Classical Public Radio. She and her ensemble, the Charlotte Strings Collective, have performed throughout Charlotte. The ensemble recently collaborated on the community-engaged project \u201cBrooklyn to Browne\u2019s Ferry,\u201d which chronicles the story of Grace A.M.E. Zion Church, its migration, and its effort to redefine itself in a new place and time. Most recently she presented an invited talk entitled &#8220;Comparing Two Experiences of Beat in Tanya Tagaq&#8217;s &#8216;Ilunikavi'&#8221; at a symposium in honor of Dr. John Roeder held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on June 24, 2023. Most recently, he served as a guest conductor for the US Army Field Band, the Old Dominion University Wind Ensemble, the Carolina Trombone Project, and several regional honor bands. His article entitled, \u201cConducting Communication\u201d was published in the Winter 2023&nbsp;<em>North Carolina Music Educator<\/em>. Recent presentations include \u201cLess Can Be More: Artistic Innovation During Changing Times,\u201d presented at the College Music Society Mid-Atlantic Conference in March 2023, and \u201cWhy Are We Playing This?
