The Projective Eye Gallery in The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City <\/a> is the College of Arts + Architecture’s artistic space in uptown Charlotte. The gallery presents major exhibitions and installations by national and international artists throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gallery operates in accordance with The Dubois Center hours: Monday \u2013 Friday: 7:30am-9:30pm; Saturday: 8:00am-4:00pm; Sunday: CLOSED.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNC Charlotte Projective Eye Gallery presents, Miniature, Monumental<\/em>, a diverse exhibition of artists exploring the psychological effects of miniature and monumental artworks on participants. The exhibition initiates the question, \u201cin what ways does the scale of an artwork affect its viewers?\u201d It draws inspiration from philosophies substantiated in Susan Stewart\u2019s book, On Longing: Narratives of the Miniature, Gigantic, the Souvenir, and the Collection. Do large-scale works produce a sense of awe, as miniature works emit an intimate response in a spectator? Is the \u201cminiature\u201d a metaphor for interiority and the \u201cgigantic\u201d an exaggeration of aspects of the exterior? Does the increase or reduction in scale of the work affect the time and space relations of the everyday world? This exhibition offers an opportunity to explore such theories and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
