Beebe and Jackson use their talents as art director and junior art director, respectively, at Boone Oakley, a Charlotte advertising agency. <\/p>\n<p>Beebe and Jackson provided design, art direction, and photography for <a href=\"http:\/\/booneoakley.com\/project\/dukes-bread\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a new ad campaign for Duke\u2019s Bread<\/a> that deploys humor to remind consumers of the joy of bread in a \u201cno carb \/ low carb\u201d environment. Upon the successful launch of the campaign, the <em>Communication Arts<\/em> editorial team reached out to Boone Oakley to feature the materials in an online exhibition o<a href=\"https:\/\/www.commarts.com\/exhibit\/dukes-bread-print-ads\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">n the magazine\u2019s website<\/a>. The magazine followed up that selection with an upcoming print feature on the design work. The Duke\u2019s Bread project was also noted by <em>L\u00fcrzer\u2019s Archive<\/em>, an international advertising magazine, which featured the imagery online as its \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.luerzersarchive.com\/en\/print-ad-of-the-week\/2018-36.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Print Ad of the Week<\/a>\u201d and will include it in an upcoming print edition.<\/p>\n<p>Previously this year, <em>Communication Arts<\/em> magazine selected Beebe\u2019s work for an Outer Banks tourism campaign. The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau engaged Boone Oakley to develop an attention-getting campaign to remind urbanites in the Northeastern U.S. that a beach vacation is as close as the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The resulting advertisements and video were featured in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commarts.com\/project\/26460\/outer-banks-visitors-bureau-spots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an online exhibition on <em>Communication Arts<\/em> website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1959, <em>Communication Arts<\/em> is the most widely circulated international trade journal of visual communication. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luerzersarchive.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L\u00fcrzer\u2019s Archive<\/a> is a Vienna-based international advertising magazine, with European and Chinese editions, as well as African and Eastern European coverage.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Art alumni Laura Knight Beebe (BFA \u201913) and Savannah Jackson (BFA \u201917) will have their graphic design work featured in the January\/February 2019 print edition of Communication Arts.
