The awards, inaugurated this year by the UNC Charlotte Young Alumni Chapter, recognize 10 exceptional UNC Charlotte alumni who have graduated within the past 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>Kenny is a creative designer and producer in Los Angeles, having recently worked as art director for RuPaul\u2019s DragCon. In 2016 she founded the nonprofit, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.resisterhoodla.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resisterhoodLA,<\/a> which curates and coordinates volunteer activities for social good in Los Angeles. Some of the events resisterhoodLA has hosted include a book drive, a drive to collect feminine hygiene products for homeless women and girls, planting a school garden, and the production of a short film with an all-female filmmaking team to benefit survivors of sex trafficking.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Kenny, who graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre in 2010, is one of the &#8220;Top 10 Under Ten&#8221; Alumni Award winners.
