AGA Collaborative, a trio of choreographer-performers that includes UNC Charlotte Associate Professor of Dance Gretchen Alterowitz with Alison Bory and Amanda Hamp, has been invited to perform the original work win. place. show.<\/em> at two international conferences this summer. AGA Collaborative will perform at the Dance and Somatic Practices 2017 Conference<\/a>, to be held July 7-9 at Coventry University in Coventry, UK, and at the World Dance Alliance 2017 Global Summit<\/a>, to be held in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, July 23-28.<\/p>\n

Also in July, the trio will perform win. place. show.<\/em> In a three-night run at the Gibney Dance Center in New York City.<\/p>\n

AGA Collaborative formed in 2011 to explore the possibilities of co-creating. They co-choreograph, -perform, and -present dances that offer multiple perspectives and layers of meaning that are beyond the reach of a single choreographer. In their collaboration, they are dedicated to investigating different ways of thinking about and viewing dancing bodies on stage, prioritizing intimacy and connection over bodily display.<\/p>\n

Running approximately 55 minutes, win. place. show.<\/em> investigates a set of interrelated themes: the pressures of accomplishment and achievement that seem to shape our individual lives, the demands of perpetual productivity that are instigated by our \u201calways on\u201d economy, and the many ways that we find ourselves navigating the daily race. win. place. show.<\/em> was performed at UNC Charlotte in February 2017. <\/p>\n
