Hartley, who is the Robinson Distinguished Professor of Theatre, first met Dumezweni when she was working for the Royal Shakespeare Company six years ago. In addition to her vibrant stage career (she won an Olivier Award in 2006 for her role in <em>A Raisin in the Sun<\/em>), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harrypottertheplay.com\/cast\/noma-dumezweni\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dumezweni<\/a> has had appeared in numerous TV films and series.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ajhartley.net\/book\/steeplejack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Steeplejack cover\" data-src=\"https:\/\/cws.charlotte.edu\/backup-coaa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/807\/2024\/06\/steeeplejack-lead-204x308-1.jpg\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 204px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 204\/308;\">Steeplejack<\/em> <\/a>is a fantasy\/mystery with a brave young female protagonist. It is set in an imaginary world inspired by 19<sup>th<\/sup>-century South Africa, the same country that Dumezweni\u2019s parents fled \u2013 first to Swaziland, where Dumezweni was born, then to England \u2013 to escape apartheid. It was published in June 2016 by Tor Teen. Audible will release the audiobook on November 8.<\/p>\n<p>Dumezweni is the third celebrity to give voice to one of Hartley\u2019s books. In 2012, Alan Cumming narrated the audio version of <a href=\"http:\/\/ajhartley.net\/book\/macbeth-a-novel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Macbeth<\/a>, a novelization of Shakespeare\u2019s tragedy written with David Hewson.
