Dallmeyer, who completed her Master of Architecture (M. Arch) degree in 2015, received the 2019 Emerging Professional of the Year Award. Edwards, who received her M. Arch degree in 2009, won the 2019 Citizen Architect Award. <\/p>\n<p>Dallmeyer first became connected to AIA Charlotte in 2014 as the winner of the AIA Charlotte\/UNC Charlotte traveling fellowship, which allowed her to travel to Cuba while a student in the School of Architecture. Upon graduating from UNC Charlotte she became involved with the Women in Architecture Committee, chairing it in 2017, and still remains an active committee member. <\/p>\n<p>Edwards&#8217;s work with the Town of Matthews planning board has helped shape the community of Matthews. Most notably, she sat on an Affordable Housing subcommittee and helped produce a report for the town that demonstrates the need for affordable housing in Matthews and recommends steps to take to remediate housing issues.<\/p>\n<p>Both alumni work in the Charlotte office of Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, an international architecture and design firm.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>School of Architecture alumni Emily Dallmeyer and Natasha Edwards, AIA, have won awards from AIA Charlotte, the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
