Two cast members from the national touring Broadway production of Come From Away<\/em> led a special Musical Theatre Workshop for students on Friday, January 10. The show has run at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center\u2019s Belk Theater, January 7-12.<\/p>\n

Sharone Sayeghi<\/a> and Amelia Cormack<\/a> conducted a master class in technique for the musical theatre stage. Come From Away<\/em>, with book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, tells the true story of the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, that welcomed stranded travelers in the week following the September 11 terrorist attacks.<\/p>\n

Sayeghi, who has appeared on Broadway in productions of The Band\u2019s Visit<\/em> and Mamma Mia<\/em>, plays the role of Bonnie in Come From Away<\/em>. Cormack, who has played in national Broadway tours of Kinky Boots<\/em> and Les Mis<\/em>\u00e9rables<\/em>, performs the roles Hannah and Diane in Come From Away<\/em>.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
