Concepts in Clay: Artists of Color<\/a><\/em>, is on view through December 31.<\/p>\n“Featuring works by celebrated Black ceramic artists, Concepts In Clay <\/em>brings together a collective voice that speaks about a variety of themes and processes as part of the continuum of artists of color working in clay in the US today,” the exhibition catalogue reads. “Clay is the vehicle that amplifies these voices, and within this collection, these artists not only share their work with us, but their thoughts on what present-day America means to each of them.”<\/p>\nThompson has submitted three pieces from The Post Migration Series,<\/em> which are large slab built clay and wood pieces that are part wagon and part metaphorical dwelling.<\/p>\nHer work has been included in galleries, art centers, and museums such as the Society for Contemporary Crafts, Pennsylvania; Baltimore Clayworks; the Ohr O\u2019Keefe Museum in Biloxi, Mississippi; the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft; Te Temauta Gallery in New Zealand; and Guldegaard in Denmark. She has completed public commissions for businesses, and her work is in private and public collections in North Carolina, Virginia, New Mexico, New Zealand, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. <\/p>\n
