How did you first get interested in architecture and music?<\/strong>
I spent my childhood playing with blocks, drawing the houses in my neighborhood, and staring out the window in awe at buildings on long car rides. So, when I first heard the word “architecture” at age seven, I finally had a name for my first love and knew that I was going to grow up to be an architect. When I started middle school, I was given the opportunity to learn an instrument, and I chose violin. Through this opportunity, I realized how much I enjoyed music and that even though I still wanted to be an architect, I would do everything in my power to continue playing throughout my entire life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What kind of career do you hope to have?<\/strong>
In the future, I hope to become an architect and designer in a way that helps bridge the gap between sustainability and affordability in housing. I would also like to play violin in a local orchestra in my free time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite thing about the College of Arts + Architecture?<\/strong>
My favorite thing about the College of Arts + Architecture is that I can pursue multiple degrees that I enjoy within the same college and be supported by artistic and design-oriented staff as I do so. I also love having access to so many performances and lectures that enrich my learning experience and view on life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?<\/strong>
Within the College of Arts + Architecture, I have enjoyed being in the orchestra as well as playing in a string quartet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am also an active member of Niner United, which is a Christian club on campus. I attend several Bible studies with them and have been able to join their worship team, allowing me to play violin and sing during worship nights on a regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s one thing you have gained from your scholarship?<\/strong>
As an Arts + Architecture Honors student, I have been given a housing scholarship that I will receive for my first two years of college as long as I remain in good standing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is one thing that you have gained from the Arts + Architecture Honors Program?<\/strong>
As a member of the Arts + Architecture Honors Program, I have been able to see and become excited about what research opportunities are available to me in the field of architecture as well as see how architecture and the arts coexist and build off of one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?<\/strong>
When I am not in class, I really enjoy crocheting, listening to music, and thrifting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
