How did you first get interested in architecture?<\/strong>
My interest in architecture started with many, many Legos. I\u2019ve always been interested in design and building, whether through school or personal projects. I took some design-build classes in high school, which confirmed that I wanted to pursue architecture. I love problem-solving and design, which is something I get to do with each project we are given in school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What kind of career do you hope to have?<\/strong>
I\u2019m interested in the wide range of aspects that architecture explores, so I\u2019m not entirely sure where I\u2019ll end up. Whether it\u2019s design, structure, or the human experience, I know I want to work in a place that allows me to explore these interests. After becoming licensed, I hope to join a firm that produces meaningful work, whether in the U.S. or abroad. Ultimately, my goal is to open my own practice and lead projects in the community. Through my time in school, I\u2019ve realized that many people outside the field don\u2019t always see what architecture can bring to their lives. Architecture is a service, so I hope to bring that work back and show the beauty and impact of thoughtful design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite thing about the David R. Ravin School of Architecture?<\/strong>
My favorite part of the School of Architecture has always been the people. As a freshman, I never expected to form such close connections with both my peers and professors. Maybe it\u2019s because architecture school demands so much time together, or maybe it simply attracts collaborative people\u2014but either way, it creates a bond that feels rare compared to other majors. The diversity of students and their backgrounds makes it easy to find people you connect with. I\u2019ve also come to really appreciate the professors, who go out of their way to make the experience personal and engaging. Their dedication to teaching and pushing us forward is a big reason why I feel I\u2019ve grown so much as I enter my senior year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
