Our Research is multifaceted, interdisciplinary
and super impactful!
And we don’t stop there. Between our Focus Areas, Centers and Institutes, Core and Shared Facilities, and College Research Offices, UNC Charlotte adds layers of community and industry-centered research, public service, and instruction conducted by the faculty and staff that help drive economic development within our state. These partnerships with organizations such as private or corporate sponsors, educational institutions, and federal or state agencies, produce jobs, technical assistance and training, pathways to community development, and introductions to new technologies.
Our UNC Charlotte Institutional Centers are established according to University Policy #314. On this page, you’ll also find our Pilot Centers.
Focus Areas
Through an interactive campus process that resulted in 82 submissions and included 592 faculty and staff, the Top-Tier Research Commission selected 17 areas of focus and distinction.
Including Areas such as AREAS OF EXISTING EXCELLENCE, AREAS OF FUTURE OPPORTUNITY and AREAS OF EMERGING IMPACT. #THENINERWAY
