Filters and spectral un-mixing algorithms let the researcher take full advantage of bioluminescent and fluorescent reporters across the blue to near infrared wavelength region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Examples of the IVIS\u2019s capabilities:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tracking of bioluminescent or fluorescently tagged cancer cells to monitor growth and metastasis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor all forms of cell transplant experiments to quantify engraftment, cell growth or cell differentiation. Uses would include studies of stem cell transplants, reconstitution of hematological and immune systems after irradiation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor the <em>in vivo<\/em> gene activity in transgenic animals carrying appropriately tagged promoter indicator transgenes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor <em>in vivo<\/em> gene activities in cells that have been reconstituted to carry a bioluminescent or fluorescently tagged expressed gene.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor any form of biochemical activity that can be assayed using a bioluminescent or fluorescently tagged substrate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UNC Charlotte\u2019s IVIS Spectrum is located within the University\u2019s secure research animal facility.
