As one of the basic education requirements for the Animal Care and Use Program, the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) online training program provides the conceptual framework for humane and ethical treatment of vertebrate animals in research and teaching. Specific CITI modules are required for individuals working on animal-specific research protocols and for IACUC members.<\/strong> Required modules must be repeated every three (3) years. NOTE: <\/strong> CITI offers full support for the current versions of four browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Internet Explorer, and Safari. For additional compatibility details, search the CITI Support Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow these steps to register and set up your training curriculum:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. On the main <\/span>CITI<\/a> page, click \u201cRegister\u201d to create an account.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Enter \u201c<\/span>University of North Carolina at Charlotte<\/strong>\u201d for your Organization, then complete the guided registration process.<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    NOTE:<\/strong> For individuals who used CITI training at other institutions – You may log into your account from your prior institution and in your main screen choose \u201cAdd Affiliation.\u201d <\/strong>Select \u201cUniversity of North Carolina at Charlotte\u201d<\/strong> and complete any other required information when prompted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. On your main page after logging in, scroll to \u201c<\/span>Institutional Courses<\/strong>.\u201d Select \u201c<\/span>View Courses<\/strong>\u201d beside the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.<\/span> <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Scroll down to \u201c<\/span>Learner Tools for University of North Carolina at Charlotte<\/strong>.\u201d Click \u201c<\/span>Add a Course<\/strong>.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. A series of questions will appear. Skip Questions 1-4. Answer <\/span>Question 5<\/strong> to access the courses required by the Animal Care and Use Program:<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
